Just a few hours after Prime Minister Edi Rama rejected MP Marjana Koçeku's claims that he had promised residents that illegal construction would be legalized, the latter's reaction was not delayed.

Through a video message shared online, Koçek ironically reveals the success of the ''Mountain Package'', adding that the residents of the area still do not have the right to ownership of their lands and towers recognized.

He adds that the success of this draft law will only be evident when residents are recognized for their rights over the land, agricultural land, forests and mountains that they have used over the centuries and inherited.

''I want to talk about the success of the "Mountains Package" when those residents who have lived in those areas for centuries still do not have their ownership rights over their lands and towers recognized.

When there is still no paved main road, no connection between villages, when their livestock is not protected or supported in any way, when building a barn has the same bureaucracy as building a house, when centuries-old towers are collapsing because they have neither support nor property titles. How can it function when businesses are forced to turn on generators for three months of summer to survive.

If these residents' rights to the land, agricultural land, forests and mountains that they have used for centuries and inherited are recognized, then we can talk about the success of the 'Mountain Package '', says Marjana Koçeku.
