On Thursday, July 23, the last plenary session for this parliamentary session was announced to be held, with the agenda also including the presentation of the reports of the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party on Territorial Reform.

But the agenda published by the Albanian Parliament on Thursday for the July 23 session did not include the report on the Special Commission for Territorial Reform, while its term of office ended on July 15.

The Conference of Mayors will meet on Thursday morning to discuss the work calendar for the period July 27-31 and whether there will be another plenary session where the report on Territorial Reform will be included on the agenda, in addition to the ratification of an agreement in the field of defense.

The postponement of the report's publication appears to come after protests that have begun in several cities, following the publication of news about the merger of several municipalities.

The SP has stated that the presentation of the report will take place on July 23, where in addition to the analysis of the 2014 territorial reform, the SP will make its proposal for the division of the territory into municipalities.

On Wednesday, the DP is expected to submit to the parliament only an analysis of the 2014 territorial reform, but not a proposal for the new territorial map.

None of the reports were presented to the committee and consequently were not voted on.

Thursday, July 23, will determine whether the Territorial Reform report will be put on the agenda at the last minute, or if there will be another parliamentary session.

The assembly's rules of procedure stipulate that the report on Territorial Reform will first have to be passed into committee and then into plenary session.
