Julian Alvarez, tension increases at Atletico Madrid
Julian Alvarez

The situation surrounding Julián Álvarez is becoming increasingly complicated at Atlético Madrid. The Argentine striker did not take part in the last training session ahead of the match against Sevilla. The official reason is a lack of availability due to his physical condition, but his absence comes at a time when his future at Madrid has become a hot topic.

Faced with this confusing situation, the Madrid club has also reacted.

"The player is being portrayed as a victim, but the only victims in the Julian case are us. We have been damaged both economically and socially. There is 0% chance of selling him to Barça. This situation is not about money, it is about dignity. A campaign has been created with many lies and half-truths. The only one paying the price is Atletico ," the club said in a statement.

Tensions between the player and some of the fans erupted after the 2-2 draw with Villarreal. Álvarez was booed as soon as the lineups were introduced and the arguments continued during the warm-up and even after he was put into action.

At the center of the whole story is the transfer market. Barcelona continues to be Álvarez's preferred destination, while Atlético has no intention of giving up and has so far rejected attempts to remove the striker. But Arsenal has also entered the race strongly. The London club is trying to convince the Argentine with a central role in its sporting project, guaranteeing him space in the position where he feels best.

In Madrid, meanwhile, time is running out. If Álvarez leaves, Atlético must find a replacement immediately. Simeone is looking for reinforcements in attack and among the names being considered are Viktor Gyökeres and Gabriel Jesus.

Now the decision is awaited.

Álvarez must clarify his future, while Atlético must prepare for any scenario. A story that, in the final days of the transfer window, could take a decisive turn.
