Albania wins gold medal at the Mediterranean Games "Taranto 2026", thanks to Islam Dudaev.

Wrestler Dudaev was declared champion in the 74 kilogram freestyle category, after defeating Fati Vejseli, the Albanian wrestler representing North Macedonia, in the final.

The final did not go to the end, as Vejsel suffered an injury and was unable to continue the match.

Another athlete representing Albania, Zelimkhan Abakarov, secured the silver medal for our country.

Abakarov competed in the 65 kg freestyle category, where he reached the grand final. In the gold medal match, he faced Turkey's Ahmet Duman, to whom he lost 4–2.

With this result, Abakarov climbs to the podium and gives Albania a silver medal, after a positive performance.

The medals won in Taranto by the red and black wrestlers are very important, raising the red and black flag to the podium of one of the most important sporting activities in the Mediterranean.
