Shocking details have emerged from the murder of Urim Fiku in the village of Godvi, Bulqiza, where his wife and son are suspected of attempting to cover up the crime, initially presenting the incident as a fatal attack by a bear.
According to data made public by the investigation and media reports, the 61-year-old is suspected of having been initially shot in the back with a pistol, with the bullet penetrating the body and exiting the chest. In addition to the gunshot wound, forensic experts have also found a serious head injury, suspected to have been caused by an axe.
But what makes the incident even more shocking are the actions allegedly taken by the family members after the murder. To hide the gunshot wound, the wife and son are suspected of removing the victim's clothes and putting them on.
According to reported investigations, the son cut up the clothes that his father had taken off with scissors and then threw them in the apartment's toilet, intending to make them disappear. However, these clothes were found and seized by the police as material evidence.
The incident is suspected to have occurred in the early hours of the morning. Initially, family members reported that Urim Fiku had been attacked by a bear. They then transported him to Bulqiza Hospital, claiming that they needed medical attention, but the white shirts determined that he had arrived without any signs of life.
According to the same report, the wife and son requested to remove the body to continue with the funeral ceremony, but the police's notification by doctors prompted verifications and expertise that revealed that death had not resulted from an attack by a wild animal.
During questioning, the wife, Sadete Fiku, allegedly stated that the motive for the incident was jealousy, as her husband had started another extramarital affair. She also claimed that the weapon used in the crime was initially hidden from her, while her son later took it and took it to another location, without her knowledge.
The pistol was seized by the police after its location was revealed by the victim's son. The clothing allegedly used in the attempt to cover up the crime was also seized as material evidence.
The 61-year-old's wife and son have been arrested for the incident, and are suspected of the criminal offenses of "Murder due to family relations", committed in collaboration, and "Unlicensed possession of firearms and ammunition".
