The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku , has reacted again following developments in the Assembly and the lack of support from six LDK deputies for Bekim Sejdiu's candidacy for the post of president of Kosovo.

Through a reaction published on social networks, Abdixhiku described the situation as a moment that, according to him, has also determined the further political course of the country.

The leader of the LDK has hinted that after the inability to secure the necessary support for the election of the president, the country is now heading towards another electoral process.

Abdixhiku emphasized that new elections were not part of the LDK's political plan and that this was not even a request from the party's structures or membership.

According to him, over the past few months, the idea for new elections has come from other political actors, who, in his assessment, have already managed to influence developments within the political scene.

The LDK leader has not hidden his disappointment about the situation, linking it to the decision of the party's deputies who did not participate in supporting the proposed presidential candidate.

However, despite the criticism and recent developments, Abdixhiku has made it clear that he does not consider this situation as a reason to give up his political positions. He has stated that the LDK will continue the political confrontation and that he believes that its position is right.

"New elections were not on the LDK's agenda. They were neither a request nor a decision of our membership," Abdixhiku said, underlining that this situation was not what the party had intended.

According to him, new elections have long been an objective of other political groups and recent developments show that this goal is now directly affecting political processes within the country.

Abdixhiku expressed regret for this situation, but at the same time conveyed a mobilizing message to his supporters and the LDK structures. He insisted that regardless of the outcome of recent developments, the political battle does not end here.

"For this I feel only regret! But not surrender. You are too much. We are right. We have an obligation. The Republic will nevertheless triumph!", he wrote.

The statement by the LDK leader comes at an important moment for Kosovar politics, as the failure to elect a president has increased uncertainty over future institutional steps.

Disagreements over the candidacy and the lack of full parliamentary support have brought the possibility of a new election cycle back to the center of the debate.

In this situation, it remains to be seen how the political scenario will develop in the coming days and whether the parties will manage to find an institutional solution or the country will face new elections.
