Tehran has launched missile and drone attacks on US targets in Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq and Bahrain, after US forces resumed strikes against Iran on Tuesday.
The Iranian Red Crescent reported that five people, including a child, were killed and more than 50 others were injured when a US missile strike hit a house where a wedding was taking place in Sirik, southern Iran. The US military said it was aware of the reports but had never targeted civilians.
US Central Command (Centcom) said the US strikes on Iran followed "recent attempted attacks" by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz and US forces in the region. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the US would "regret" the attacks.
The Jordanian Armed Forces said they had intercepted 13 ballistic missiles, 10 of which were destroyed, while three fell in remote areas. There were no deaths or injuries as a result of the Iranian attack.
Kuwait's military said its air defenses were responding to Iranian missile attacks on Wednesday morning.
Several explosions were also reported in Bahrain following the attacks from Iran, according to Iranian state media.
In Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region, Iran's Revolutionary Guard said on Wednesday it had struck US bases with missiles and drones, destroying a maintenance center, warehouses and equipment, the state-run IRNA agency reported.
US President Donald Trump has said he is not trying to bring Iran to the negotiating table. He has also said that the Strait of Hormuz is under their control and that Iran's economy is collapsing.
"I'm not trying to force Iran to the negotiating table. I don't care if they sign a deal that means nothing to them. We have almost complete control of the Strait of Hormuz and their economy is collapsing. They are just waiting for the inevitable. When will the Iranian people stand up and fight?" Trump wrote in Truth.
