Sensational! Cristiano Ronaldo reveals the future: This could be my last year as
Cristiano Ronaldo

Will Cristiano Ronaldo hang up his boots? It's not an official announcement, but the Portuguese football legend's words in an interview with Vogue don't leave much room for imagination and interpretation and sound like a declaration of retirement from football by the 41-year-old.

"This could be my last year as a footballer and I want to leave a spectacular legacy. I have planned my future. I have so many things to do and it's hard to name just one. And I would like to have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which I really like, and continue to enjoy what I have won, or rather what we have won. Because after all, I have spent 25 years with a lot of sacrifices," Ronaldo said.

After a life at the highest levels, even for one of the greatest and most iconic footballers of all time, it seems the time is coming for him to hang up his boots and dedicate himself to other things.

Ronaldo's ultimate goal is now known to be to reach the 1000 goal mark, and the countdown says he is 24 goals short of that, having scored 976.
