Kurti meets PDK leader after sentencing former KLA leaders: Decision should be
Bedri Hamza and Albin Kurti

A day after the announcement of the first-instance verdict at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague against four former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, in a meeting.

Describing the verdict as unfair, serious and with far-reaching consequences, Prime Minister Kurti stressed that it should be positively changed at the Appeals Court.

Kurti and Hamza shared their thoughts and impressions and discussed what the paths and methods that should be followed moving forward would be to correct yesterday's decision.

Prime Minister Kurti and Mayor Hamza pledged regular and direct communication on issues of public, state and national interest.

"The resistance of our people and the liberation war, in addition to being right, were indispensable on the path to freedom and independence. The Kosovo Liberation Army was an organizational response of Albanians to an oppressive state regime like that of Yugoslavia and Milosevic's Serbia, which has documented crimes: from systematic repression to apartheid, from the denial of basic human and civil rights to ethnic cleansing and genocide," Prime Minister Kurti's announcement states.
