Following the announcement of the verdict by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague against former KLA leaders, rallies in their support have begun in Pristina.

Citizens and supporters of the Kosovo Liberation Army have gathered on the main boulevard of the capital, where they have started a march expressing opposition to the decision of the Special Court.

In total, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi have been sentenced to 81 years in prison.

Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi has been found guilty and sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

According to the Court, Thaçi was held criminally responsible for crimes including murder, torture, cruel treatment and unlawful detention, committed during the war in Kosovo.

Jakup Krasniqi was found guilty of war crimes and sentenced to 25 years in prison, including arbitrary detention, cruel treatment, torture and unlawful killing.

Kadri Veseli has been sentenced to 18 years in prison by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

The trial panel found Veseli guilty of war crimes, including unlawful or arbitrary detention, cruel treatment, torture, and unlawful killing.

Meanwhile, Rexhep Selimi has been sentenced to 13 years in prison by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

According to the trial panel, Selimi was found guilty of war crimes, including cruel treatment, torture and unlawful killing.
