Zidane starts first training as new France coach, changes since debut session

Zinedine Zidane has officially started work at the helm of the French national team, with the first training session immediately bringing several innovations to the functioning of the team.

In preparation for the Nations League matches, the French coach led a group of only 12 players, mostly players who had few minutes or did not take the field at all with their clubs over the weekend.

The atmosphere at the training center was positive, while for some of the young players, the first training session under the guidance of a legend like Zidane was accompanied by emotion and pressure.

The coach appeared calm and close to the players, giving the first signals of his philosophy.

There have been changes beyond training as well. The traditional media reception for players at the training center has been removed, while injury management has also been reorganized.

Injured footballers will no longer travel to the national center for checks, as medical staff will collaborate directly with their clubs.

Another innovation was seen in the choice of training ground. For the first session, a ground that was rarely used during Didier Deschamps's tenure was used.

Now, the wait is on for the official debut. The Roosters will face Turkey on September 25th, while then on the calendar are two important challenges against Belgium and Italy.
