The days of August are drawing to a close, while this month's fever for the Socialist Party, which is governing the country for its fourth term, is increasing.
This is as a result of the rapid start of the new political session by Edi Rama, with two important meetings, one expected to take place today at around 11:30 in Pogradec and the next the next day in the same city.
Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu has learned that at 11:30 today, the 12 political leaders of the regions, along with the socialist chairmen of the parliamentary committees, will gather at the government villa in the lakeside city.
Sources from the Socialist Party claimed that the focus of this meeting will be the Besa document and another document known as "Besa's Presence" submitted to the social parliamentary group at the end of July.
Rama is expected to receive reflections on these two documents from this meeting with the ultimate goal of enriching and moving towards a final document, without overlooking preparations for the 2027 local elections.
This Sunday evening will find Rama, political leaders, heads of parliamentary committees and ministers at a dinner, which will likely serve to relieve the August fever, before the "performance test" on Monday.
Also in Pogradec, at the government villa, in what is known as an informal government "retreat", ministers will report on the progress of their departments for the period January-August 2026.
Unlike past meetings of this format, deputy ministers will not participate, but only ministers and directors of agencies subordinate to them.
As in the 'retreats' of past years, each minister will also report on media presence and social media.
But Rama's political sprint that starts this Sunday does not end here.
Sources from the Socialist Party also confirmed to Top Channel that the socialist national assembly will likely convene in the first week of September.
If we refer to past meetings of the socialist assemblies, they have been used by Rama to unveil changes in the governing cabinet./TCH
