Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted today regarding the impasse over magistrates' salaries for the month, for which he emphasizes that every institution must hold its own.
While adding that the judicial salary fund is proposed to the executive branch and approved by the legislative branch, Rama emphasizes that the Constitutional Court is awaiting execution by Parliament.
"Each institution in its own place. The judicial salary fund is proposed to the executive branch and approved by the legislative branch. And when the Constitutional Court itself expects the parliament to execute its decision on judicial salaries and does not dare to open the door to the state treasury itself, any other comment is at best a waste of time and at worst, don't even ask what it is..." Rama wrote in the reaction made this afternoon.
Prime Minister Rama's reaction regarding the salary impasse of the country's magistrates, who were blocked from receiving their August salaries after they increased their own salaries, comes at a time when the institutional conflict between the judiciary and the executive over the issue of August salaries has transcended administrative discussions and has escalated into warnings of criminal prosecution.
