Manjani explains why he is against Veliaj's prison sentence: Pressure is
Star Manjani

Lawyer Ylli Manjani spoke out on "Top Story" against the arrest of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj.

He stated that Veliaj's arrest also causes pressure on the judges who are trying him, because they have a security measure on their "backs".

Manjani also focused on the European Parliament, which he called "the most unemployed institution in Europe."

"To be fair, no one has thought about the Albanians. What seems and is clear is a cause that produces fog and the fog goes in favor of the wolf. If we have to build a discussion on standards, yes standards are missing. I have never thought that prison arrest is a good thing, according to my concept it is applied either when caught red-handed or when someone has committed murder. Everything else is negotiable. We show prison arrest as the only means. When this culture of impunity was introduced, in the name of the people... This is in vain. There are no unpunished people here. That word prison has left the corridors of politics. This has created this legal cause.

Erion Veliaj should not have been arrested in the first place, in my opinion. A judge who judges a criminal charge, when there is no security measure on his back, has it much easier when he does not have the security measure process. The judges who judge the "Partizani" file are much more relaxed, because there is no security measure on his back.

Secondly, foreigners speak in Albania, especially these unemployed people of the EP, I have no respect for them. The European Parliament is the most unemployed institution in Europe. If you are a friend of Gaz Bardhi, you will speak like Gaz Bardhi. That is what the European Parliament is like ,” said Manjani.
