On the 114th day of the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, activists and citizens have leveled accusations against the government.
Activist Sidorela Vatnikaj addressed the citizens, speaking about the sustainability of the protest and confronting political pressure.
Vatnikaj said that the protesters had anticipated the government's reaction, but said that in the 114 days of protest they have learned that only the unity of Albanians against crime and corruption is the solution for Albania.
"We could have imagined how great the attack from the government and the patronageists would be, but in 114 days we have learned a greater truth than this. Only the unity of Albanians, beyond political beliefs, beyond the provinces they come from, but the unity of all Albanians against state violence, against corruption and crime is the only solution we can make Albania," Vatnikaj declared.
The activist further said that " in 36 years we have seen that it has been the same face of power that puts its hand in the pocket of the poor to give to the rich. The one that leaves the hospital without serum and medicine, the one that leaves the school without teachers because it turns them into patronizers. We have said enough is enough".
The activist repeated the protesters' demands, the main one being the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
"We are here because we demand that Albania be returned to its citizens. We are here to say like every other day, 'Albania demands revolution ,'" the activist declared.
Meanwhile, activist Edison Lika, on the 114th day of the protest against the government, has called for mobilization on Thursday in front of Parliament, where, according to him, three draft laws opposed by the protesters are expected to be discussed.
"On Thursday, in Parliament, the three draft laws that have brought us to protest will be discussed. Therefore, we say to every citizen who has participated in the protest for 114 days, that it is the moral duty of each of us to, on Thursday, at 10:00, in Parliament, demand the repeal of Law 21/2024, the cancellation of the Mountain Package, the cancellation of the law on the strategic investor ," said Lika.
He said that even if the draft laws do not pass through parliamentary committees for consideration, this would be considered by the protesters as a result of the protest. The activist stressed that the protest will continue until the demand for the government's resignation is met.
" We have stood up to Edi Rama's government. We will be here until Edi Rama and the entire government resign," the activist concluded.
