The National Association of Judges, the Union of Judges of Albania and the Association of Prosecutors have addressed the Constitutional Court with a request to repeal Law No. 95/2026, which amends the law on the status of judges and prosecutors.

In the request filed on September 21, 2026, the three associations also request the suspension of the implementation of the law until the final decision is made by the Constitutional Court.

The associations argue that the Assembly did not approve the legal amendments within the deadline set by the Constitutional Court in its decision of February 17, 2026, while the request also raises issues regarding the implementation of the constitutional decision and the determination of the reference salary of magistrates.

The document also states that the Supreme Court and the Supreme Administrative Court had approved decisions to determine the reference salary of judges and prosecutors, but then the execution of salary differences faced problems in Treasury procedures.

The request has already been submitted to the Constitutional Court for review.
