The Albanian champion of Europe in the 3000 meter steeplechase, Luiza Gega, has arrived in Rinas, where she was welcomed with a ceremony organized in her honor. In her speech, the athlete said that she made a lot of sacrifices and worked hard to achieve this result.
'Thank you for this warm welcome. Maybe I'm too tired to be where I am today. I chose to represent the colors of my flag as decently as possible and I am very proud. Finally, I showed Europe that we can make it. If you work hard and if you love this country you can make it. Things have changed in recent years for sports. They have given me a bigger boost for all the support. I did all this for this medal to come. I am very happy that I made it. And young Albanians can succeed and anyone who loves this country. I just wouldn't have succeeded if I didn't have the coach's support," said Luiza Gega.
Sports Minister Evis Kushi said that Luiza Gega is the model that every young person should follow.
I, who had the good fortune to know her closely, know very well that you have a small body and a dignified daughter, and it couldn't be otherwise. To be a champion of Europe is not enough only talent, but it takes a lot of work and effort. Luiza has succeeded with many sacrifices. That's why we are here today, for the model she represents' - said the Minister of Sports Evis Kushi.
