Despite the isolation and difficulties in holding working meetings with municipal staff, the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, requests that on October 29 the Municipal Council approve the full list of 1,500 families winning the soft loan program for purchasing a home.

A day after the announcement of the winners by the Municipality of Tirana, Veliaj shared a message on Instagram, expressing his satisfaction for the families who have been selected in this program, but at the same time speaking about the obstacles that, according to him, he is encountering in the exercise of his duties.

" Despite the persecution, isolation, and refusal of any working meeting with the municipality staff, which makes my task of properly serving the citizens who voted for me extremely difficult, I am glad that this week we are making the dream of 1,500 families, who have been declared winners of the soft loan program, a reality! ", writes Veliaj.

The Mayor announced that he has proposed to the City Council that at the meeting on October 29, it approve the full list, so that the winning families can continue the procedures for purchasing apartments.

"I have proposed to the Tirana Municipal Council that, at the meeting of October 29, it approve the full list, so that these families can afford to buy a new house. I can imagine their joy, so I congratulate them from the bottom of my heart ," he said.

The Municipality of Tirana announced yesterday around 1,500 winners of the loan interest subsidy program, which aims to help low-income families buy an apartment in the capital.

The list of winners must first be approved by the Municipal Council. Then, the beneficiaries must present themselves to the banks with which the Municipality of Tirana has signed an agreement, to continue the procedures for obtaining the soft loan.

The program provides for the subsidization of loan interests, with an interest rate of 3%, while the amount each applicant receives is determined according to the number of family members and the program's criteria.
