Fidel Ylli appeals to Rama: We don't want alms from the government! Open
Fidel Ylli

The head of the Albanian Olympic Committee, Fidel Ylli, has requested that Albania provide a budget for sports and not treat them as if they want alms.

In a statement from the ceremony to honor Luiza Gega, who was declared European champion, Ylli said that they want KKOSH and the Albanian government to be partners.

" Albanian athletes no longer take the path of emigration for other flags. Luiza is a member of the Armed Forces, we must thank Minister Peleshi for the help given. We do not ask for alms from the government Mr. Prime Minister, we want the government as a partner.

Mr. Prime Minister, I would like to make a call to you, take out those betting companies that are lying. Those before we give elite rewards to athletes, to fix that Sports Palace, to rebuild gyms, places. We cannot ask for alms from the state budget, that is the state budget. I have been in the Parliament and I know how the State budget is divided and how much it is, but it gets dark, anonymous people, why should this happen?

It was very good that they were closed, near every institution, every school, there were 10 betting shops under the buildings, but the time has come to do a study, are we so rich that we leave this money on the street? How big are we? a study should be done Mr. Prime Minister, there are betting companies in Italy.

We can't stay in that Sports Palace, Mr. Prime Minister, we need to do the Olympic games, we have a step of our own that we need to show and promote that Albania has made reforms. We have received two projects from the European Commission ", Ylli said among other things.

Luiza Gega was declared the European champion in the 3000 meters steeplechase, in the event that is taking place in Munich, Germany. She clocked a time of 9'11”31, in a race she dominated from start to finish.
