Students have announced the next national protest today, at 2:00 PM, in front of the Ministry of Education in Tirana.
After more than 150 days of protest and resistance, the student movement has decided to intensify its action, moving to a new organizing strategy with two national protests per week.
According to the announcement published by the organizers, the protests will take place every Wednesday and Saturday, at the same time, 2:00 p.m. This decision aims to keep the student mobilization alive and increase pressure on the government to meet their demands.
At the center of the students' stance continues to be the demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, which they consider non-negotiable.
Organizers say that, despite the protests that have been taking place for months, they have not yet received the response they are seeking from the government.
In their statement, the students emphasize that they are prepared for a long battle and that the new phase of organizing aims to create a more sustainable and powerful movement.
Meanwhile, the boycott of the educational process continues.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Edi Rama has repeated calls for dialogue with the protesting students, expressing his willingness to communicate. However, so far this offer has not brought about a change in the protesters' stance, who continue to insist that the resignation of the Prime Minister is their main demand.
Teachers and citizens have also lined up in support of the students, expressing solidarity with their cause.
New strategy, two national protests per week
In their announcement, the "Students in Protest" group announced that the decision to hold two national protests a week comes after a long period of resistance and aims to give students and supporters the opportunity to be more organized.
The organizers have also stated that they will continue to support other citizen protests against the government, regardless of the time and place where they are organized.
Today's protest is expected to be another important moment for the student movement, while it remains to be seen how much participation will be and whether the rally will be accompanied by marches or other forms of reaction.
The students have called on all young people and citizens who support their cause to join them in today's protest, which starts at 2:00 PM, in front of the Ministry of Education in Tirana.
