Teacher in Vlora arrested for harassing 7 female students, their statement

Seven students from the "Hajredin Beqari" Unified School in Selenica have reported their physical education teacher to the police, whom they accuse of sexual harassment on the premises of the institution.

Regarding the incident, one of the detained teacher's colleagues spoke to the media, stating that he has known Albano Ameti since the beginning of the school year and that during their collaboration he has not observed any inappropriate behavior.

 "I know him, I have him as a colleague. Our relations have been within the norms. We have been working together since the beginning of the school year. He has been correct with us, but also correct with the students.

"We are ashamed to be teachers, we are attacked from all sides. We are stripped of everything. I can't believe it and I don't want to believe that he sexually harassed girls. I went there for 20 years and it seems crazy to me," said the English teacher.

Following a complaint filed by the minors, the Vlora police have arrested the 35-year-old, who had been part of the teaching staff of this educational institution for about two months. The students who reported the teacher are between the ages of 14 and 17.

But one of the girls who reported the teacher stated that he had not personally harassed her, but had harassed her friends.

Meanwhile, it is learned what the girls have stated to the Police.

"The physical education teacher told us, when we were in the gym, the whole class - chest up, shoulders back, legs together - and we think he sexually harassed us!"
