Europe under unusual terror of 'bombs', threats at airports and media

Europe is facing an unusual wave of bomb threats, spreading panic in airports, media institutions and other strategic sectors.

The new alerts on Friday, November 6, affected flights in several European countries, while in Ireland media offices were evacuated and radio broadcasts were interrupted. This situation follows a series of similar alerts in recent days, affecting at least 25 flights, raising suspicions of a coordinated campaign of threats.

Among the latest cases was a Ryanair flight from Rome to Lisbon, which landed at the Portuguese capital's airport after a bomb threat. Checks were also activated for a Wizz Air flight from Prague to Rome, which was diverted to Venice after an anonymous call to the control tower at Fiumicino.

Czech authorities are investigating threats to several planes at Prague airport, where at least eight flights were canceled or delayed. Other threats were also reported at Copenhagen airport, but Danish police said there was no danger to passengers.

Meanwhile, in Italy, threatening messages were sent to employees of Rome airport and a private air logistics company, claiming that explosives had been placed on two planes, arriving from Helsinki and Dublin. Although the threat proved unfounded, security structures and the Postal Police were immediately activated.

The most worrying situation was recorded in Ireland, where several media outlets were forced to evacuate employees and interrupt broadcasts after receiving an email warning of an explosion within 45 minutes.

Among the institutions affected were public broadcaster RTÉ, Neustalk Radio, Today FM, Virgin Media and the Irish Independent newspaper. Police intervened at the media premises with explosives-sniffing dogs, while broadcasts resumed after the checks were completed.

European authorities are investigating whether these incidents are linked and whether it is an organized campaign aimed at hitting transport infrastructure, communications and strategic institutions in Europe.
