For days now, Grida Duma's name has become one of the most talked about names in the media and political whirlwind, amid rumors that the former Albanian right-wing MP would become part of the Rama government, even in one of the most important positions, as the number two in the cabinet.
Over the past few days, as she herself says, various scenarios have been attached to her name, a position has been assigned to her, a "sponsor" and a "deal" have been found for her. And as this news has already received "information", she herself has decided to react and break the silence.
"Sleep tight ," has been Duma's response to all those who have included her in their political scenarios. She makes it clear that she has no intention of taking anyone's place and that if one day she decides to return to politics, the decision will be entirely hers, and right from "her own door."
"If one day I make my own decision to enter politics, I will enter through my own door, I do not knock on anyone's door to enter politics, nor do I wait for these invitations-calls, because I have had the call to politics and I will always have it myself. My decision to enter politics will be because I have something to ask of Albania, because I have something to offer Albania in those moments ," says Duma, among other things.
Excerpt from the former MP's speech:
For a few days now, my name has been rumored to be part of the Rama government. They have set the agenda for me, they have found a sponsor for me, they have determined my positioning. I was amused at first, I let it flow. As news, it is an exercise in patience that I have known for a long time. There is talk and rumor, but I have not always reacted because I get bored.
I have to react when the rumor mill actually does not give anyone a chance to keep the system afloat. A system that needs to be reformed in its entirety. Having said that, I tell you that at the beginning of the day, sleep peacefully, I have no intention of taking anyone's place. Above all, because if I were to take anyone's place now, in these political moments, it would have been bad for the country, for Albania.
At the beginning of the day, I will also tell you in this brief clarifying communication, no one calls me into politics, I do not expect invitations from others into politics. If one day I will have my own decision to enter politics, I will enter through my own door, I do not knock on anyone's door to enter politics and I do not expect these invitations-calls, because I have had the call to politics and I will always have it myself.
My decision to enter politics will be because I have something to ask of Albania, because I have something to offer Albania at that moment. Having said that, there are days when ministers, deputies, leaders are crowded, meeting in Pogradec, in the south, in Tirana, and they think that Albanians have all their attention at their gate, if white smoke will come out in this reality of governance with black clouds and they mistakenly believe that this is the concern of Albanians.
I don't know why Albanians should seriously have this concern. Because, while they worry about their country and their position in the chair, Albanians have a major concern that they shout everywhere, whether or not they still have a place in Albania. Whatever the name, whoever the name is, God's miracle that individual may be, he cannot make a difference in this situation alone. It takes much more than one individual to bring what Albanians expect in these days of rebellion.
