Socialist MP and pedagogue Iris Luarasi recently stated that the government will have to "read" the protest that has been taking place in Tirana for more than 3 months. She also spoke about the "Loyal Presence", which she said is the first step that shows the SP and the government getting closer and closer to the citizens.
"I am one of the few SP MPs who have said that the Government should read the protest, should use it as a mirror in which it is looked at to see its problems. I have been so articulate in this regard, and I really believe this and now we see it taking shape.
"And the whole base of loyal presence that is happening now and that is bringing the deputies closer to the people, I definitely think that is the first step that shows this," Luarasi said on Report TV.
She also spoke about the situation that happened on Tuesday with protesters, who "ambushed" her inside a shopping center, stating that she had only received one message about the event from opposition MPs, but there were many such messages from people, and not only from those with whom she shares the same political beliefs.
"I say that, because I understand the anger of the people. There are mistakes in governance, I'm not saying there aren't any, and if I were to count some of them, I would. For the sake of truth, I have only received one message from an opposition colleague, but I have received endless messages from people who do not share the same beliefs as me and who debate fiercely when it comes to politics. Above all, we are human. Humanity prevails. I would not even want to see my worst enemy in the position I was in that day," she said.
