A little over an hour ago, awaiting the start of the first session of this new parliamentary session, citizens "ambushed" MP Iris Luarasi in a shopping center in Tirana where she was seen walking towards the Parliament.
Luarasi reacted from the Assembly afterwards, saying that she does not bow her head to anyone.
Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu reacted to the situation, through a post on her Facebook account, considering the act not as a protest or expression of civic anger, but as "genuine and ugly violence."
"This is neither a protest nor an expression of civic anger. It is genuine and ugly violence, which must be condemned forcefully, without any hesitation and without any justification."
"Violence against representatives of institutions and MPs, especially against women, as in today's case against Iris Luarasi, is a shameful act. It becomes even more serious when it is instigated by women themselves. Such behavior does not and cannot represent European Albania," she writes.
