Trump: Putin is not targeting NATO, Witkoff and Kushner head to Moscow with plan

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he does not believe Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to attack NATO territory.

At the same time, he announced that Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are expected to travel to Moscow with a proposal to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Asked about the risk of a Russian attack on a NATO member country, Trump said he does not consider such a scenario possible, emphasizing that he has direct communication with Putin and that he knows the Russian president well.

"Putin does not intend to attack NATO territory," Trump said.

The American president also announced that his envoys, Witkoff and Kushner, will go to Moscow with a proposal aimed at ending the war.

According to Trump, this is not about a new package of proposals, but about a direct plan to end the war.

Speaking about the obstacles in the negotiation process, Trump also mentioned the tense relations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"It's a personal problem between Russia and Ukraine. They really hate each other," Trump declared, referring to the two leaders.

According to the American president, sending Witkoff and Kushner to Moscow aims to assess whether there is a possibility of making progress towards ending the war.

Trump described both negotiators as "excellent," praising their work so far.

He also expressed optimism that there may be a real possibility of reaching an agreement between the parties.
