Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was asked about the future cooperation of former President Vjosa Osmani and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku in the June elections.
“How dangerous is the Osmani-Abdixhiku binomial for Vetëvendosje,” was the question asked by journalists to Kurti. In response, Kurti mentioned the percentage of MPs that Vetëvendosje won in the December 28 elections. “All those who have political ambitions, want power, have visions and ideas for the good of the citizens, let them get involved, let them work with everything they know and can, and I wish them success. But, you should keep in mind that no party leader or any claimant to any position decides this, the people decide this. And don’t forget how the people decided four months ago. The people gave Vetëvendosje 51.1%, not 50%, 51. Not 51, but 51.1%,” he said.
Kurti also mentioned " nine MPs from non-majority communities ."
"People have desires and this is normal, but desires should not be confused with facts," Kurti said about Osman and Abdixhiku.
Asked how he will fare in terms of percentage after the June elections, Kurti said that remains to be seen, while alluding that the opposition has hindered him.
"I believe that citizens have understood that every time you try to dam a socio-historical and political flow such as the Vetëvendosje Movement, then there will be more and more flow. Every time they have dammed us, the flow has increased. And now we will find out how long it will be on the evening of June 7."
