The death toll from the earthquake in Afghanistan that hit the country today is growing alarmingly.

According to state authorities, the death toll has gone up to 950.

This figure was announced by the Deputy Minister of Disaster Management.

Another 610 people were injured.

Strong tremors were also felt in Pakistan and India, according to the US Geological Survey.

Hundreds of homes were destroyed while the injured were transported to hospitals by helicopter.

The cause of great damage caused by the earthquake are unstable or poorly constructed dwellings.
