"Serbian scenario, not realistic", Berisha: Students should return to
Sali Berisha

From his weekly communication with citizens, Sali Berisha sent a message to students who are considering turning the protest into a political movement.

He said he welcomes the initiative, but has some advice for those who think they can eliminate the existing opposition, as happened in Serbia.

"Is there any similarity with the Serbian scenario, if you want a friendly preliminary advice? No, absolutely not! Just friendly, I tell you that there is no similarity. The Serbian scenario, as you know, is a scenario led entirely by the state infrastructure of Serbian universities.

With the Belgrade rector at the head, with all the deans at the head, it was the official Serbian state academic world that led the student movement. Secondly, the Serbian scenario was a scenario that developed in two years, in 700 or so days.

Thirdly, the student list in Serbia faced a number of 30 or so small opposition parties that reached a maximum of, if I'm not mistaken, 7-8%. So, there was no opposition party in Serbia like the Democratic Party.

"So what I suggest to all of them is that they have every right to take every step, just not to believe in what is not real ," Berisha concluded.

The incidents in the recent protest, according to the leading democrat, were not with students, but with individuals paid to provoke.

He once again expressed the DP's willingness to reach an agreement with all opposition forces for the May 9 elections.

To those who condition their cooperation on his departure as chairman, he reminded them that he has resigned four times, when he deemed it necessary.

According to Berisha, the opposition front should be united, with the main goal being to oust Prime Minister Rama from power.

"The Democratic Party is sincere, it is open and absolutely ready for compromises and agreements with these political forces for joint candidates throughout the country and for a joint battle to overthrow Edi Rama in Tirana and everywhere in Albania."

"And I once again use this moment to call on the leaders of these parties to put aside their differences and unite to save Albania from a great evil that it has never experienced. Any hesitation goes in favor of Edi Rama," said the Democratic leader.
