What was long awaited has now become a reality. Brajan Gruda has been invited from Germany and the name of the talent of Albanian origin appears on coach Jurgen Klopp's first list for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.
Klopp, who took over as Germany coach after the World Cup, has named 44 players, divided into two groups, for the next four matches. Among them is Gruda, the RB Leipzig winger who has long been considered one of the names that could end up in the German national team's orbit.
So the invitation comes as no surprise. Gruda has long been on the radar of Germany and now Klopp has made the first concrete move by including him in his plans.
The Reds have been following Gruda's situation, but Germany has a huge advantage due to his connection to its age structures and has already decided to bring him closer to the first team.
Germany will kick off the Klopp era on September 24 in Amsterdam against the Netherlands. They are then scheduled to face Greece on September 27, Serbia on October 1 and Greece again on October 3.
Klopp has divided the group of 44 players into two teams, with 24 players for the first two matches and 20 for the final two meetings.
Brajan Gruda has been included in the second list, which will be activated in October.
In the first list, Klopp has combined experienced names, such as Ter Stegen, Kimmich, Gnabry and Havertz, with players looking to take their first step in the Germany shirt.
Among them, Lennart Karl stands out, who is expected to make his official debut, along with Bamba Conté and Hennes Behrens.
The same philosophy will be followed in the two October challenges, against Serbia on October 1 and Greece on October 4.
Klopp has chosen another group of players, where the youngsters will have more experienced players by their side.
Adeyemi, Anton and Mittelstädt are expected to play the role of mentors for names like Jeltsch, Bischof and Scherhant.
The goal is clear, to test as many alternatives as possible and gradually build a competitive group for the 2028 European Championship.
Germany will begin this series of matches on September 24 against the Netherlands, with a renewed team, not only on the bench, but also on the field.
