Defender Amir Rrahmani has announced his retirement from the Kosovo national team. Through a post on his profile, the "Dardan" captain has also revealed the reasons that led him to this decision.
He has accused the Kosovo Federation and the people who lead it, while saying that the decision was made to preserve his integrity.
"True fans of Kosovo. After 10 years in the National Team, of which 7 years as captain, I announce to you that I will no longer be part of the Kosovo National Team, as long as the FFK is led by the current people."
Due to many factors, constant opposition, and the lack of competent people to address our problems and complaints, the situation has remained without improvement for many years.
And what did I get in return? Continuous and coordinated attacks for more than two years from those who should be protecting us. Justice will prove it one day.
"This decision comes from the need to preserve my integrity as a captain and professional footballer, but above all my values as a human being," Rrahmani writes.
Amir Rrahmani has been part of Kosovo since 2016, when he moved from the Albanian national team, while in the last seven years, after the retirement of Samir Ujkani, he was the captain of Kosovo.
