The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has called on citizens, students and high school students to join the anti-government protests in Tirana's squares tomorrow.

During a press conference held today, Berisha described tomorrow as a special and decisive day for Albanian youth. He appealed to parents, citizens and the diaspora to support students and high school students in what he called an epic battle.

The DP leader accused the police of violence against protesters, saying that since October 13, hundreds of young people have been mistreated, detained and arrested. Berisha also raised accusations of the use of tear gas, rubber bullets and other means during clashes between police and protesters. He called on citizens to come out in support of the young people, while describing the actions of the police as barbaric acts.

“Good evening!

Dear citizens, brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen, I address you tonight first and foremost as a parent, as a grandfather, as a citizen, but also as a former president and former prime minister of this country.

To all of you, parents, citizens, all members of our diaspora wherever you are, young men and women in all corners of the country, tomorrow is a very important, very special day.

Since the 13th until today, in the streets and squares of Tirana, drug gangs in uniform have behaved in the most brutal manner with barbaric acts against students and high school students of Tirana.

They have mistreated, tortured, detained, and arrested hundreds and hundreds of them.

They have filled the police stations with minors, girls, and citizens of older ages.

Their barbarity on the fallen bodies of young people and students, breaking bones, cracking skulls with gas canisters, rubber bullets, the use of gas and stun grenades, the use of tons of expired bear gas, bear spray, rubber batons accompanied by iron bars.

Tirana has not known such barbarity towards Albanian youth even in the 90s.

Tomorrow, Tirana's high school students and students need the support of every Albanian in their epic battle more than ever.

"In their undefeated battle," Berisha declared.
