A journalist was slapped today during a protest in Tirana, a disturbing case of violence against journalists who are on the ground reporting on the events.

Journalists and cameramen are not opponents of the protesters. They are there for them, to inform the public and to report on what is happening.

 

Behind every journalist there can be a sister, a wife, a daughter or a mother. The same goes for the cameramen who work to bring the footage of the protest to the citizens.

Protest is right, violence is not! Stop violence against journalists and cameramen! No one should be attacked because of their profession, much less journalists who are in the service of informing the public.
