A shocking incident has rocked football in Germany. A 35-year-old footballer has been arrested on suspicion of poisoning his 30-year-old teammate, who died just weeks before his wedding.

Both footballers were part of the German club Rockenberg.

According to the investigation, the victim fell ill during a team trip to Dresden. Initially, a food-related health problem was suspected, but his condition worsened after he returned home. He was taken to hospital, but died the next day. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was poisoning.

Investigators suspected his teammate, identified as Marius, who was arrested on September 1. He is in custody while authorities investigate the motive and manner of the crime.

One of the main leads in the investigation is related to a conflict between two footballers over a woman. According to reports, this may have been the reason that led to the clash between them, but the motive has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.
