The leader of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, has explained the incident that occurred in the Parliament, where he took the document of the agreement with the US for the 302 million dollar loan and ran away.

Shehaj said he took the agreement to read after the statement by the Speaker of Parliament Niko Peleshi. He said he signed the document for the non-distribution of the agreement and then took it and left.

"Regarding the news that has come out about the agreement document, you simply saw for yourself that the speaker of parliament told the MPs who were complaining that they could find it at the office nearby. He didn't say that you couldn't get it. I went, signed the document for the non-distribution of the agreement and left. They ask us a lot of things in the Assembly, they even ask us not to go when Rama is there," he said.

Shehaj further said that, after reading the agreement, he returned it to the office where he received it.

"I handed the agreement back to where I got it. The agreement did not come from the Albanian Parliament. I got it because it belonged to me. It is a secret agreement and I am not authorized to give details," he said.

In the end, the leader of the Opportunity Party said that they would vote in favor of the agreement, but criticized the procedure that the Assembly is following.

"In principle, we are in favor of the agreement, but we are against the procedure being followed by the Parliament," declared Shehaj.
