In the Age of Super Intelligence, We Deal with Super Stupidity

The world has entered a debate that may define the century. The debate is no longer about oil, or nuclear weapons, or missiles. The debate is about Artificial Intelligence. Or, as Donald Trump has proposed, let's call it Super Intelligence. It sounds more dramatic. And, apparently, it is.

In laboratories and universities, people are discussing whether machines will help us or replace us. Whether they will save us or control us. The West speaks in alarmist tones: “beware, we are creating something that could get out of control.”

Machines that read millions of pages per second. Machines that discover protein structures and DNA mechanisms. Programs that penetrate computer systems, cover their tracks, and disappear without being caught. Intelligence that learns on its own. Super Intelligence, not a toy.

On the other hand, Asia is pushing the gas all the way. “Move forward,” they say. “Whoever stops now, gets left behind.” Part of the world is afraid of Super Intelligence. The rest is just afraid that it won't develop it fast enough.

So, humanity is grappling with the biggest question of our time: what will happen to humans when machines become more intelligent than them?

And now… welcome to Albania.

Here we have entered a much more existential debate.

What radar went off?

Who entered Gysi's office?

What's in that office?

But why did he go?

Who saw it?

Who told him?

But who sent the SMS?

Our media has embarked on a historic mission. Either it will reveal the mystical secret of that office, or no one will sleep. As if the formula for immortality is hidden inside, not a state office.

On CNN they talk about algorithms that can run economies.

We talk about who opened the door.

In London they are debating the regulation of AI.

We debate the regulation of radar.

In Tokyo they build robots that operate on the heart.

We build committees that operate rumors.

It is a rare national talent that, every time the world climbs one floor higher, we find an even deeper basement to sink our heads into.

Superintelligence is changing the way we work, fight, learn, do medicine, justice, and the economy. It could bring incredible benefits, but also serious risks. The world is struggling to understand its limits.

And we... are trying to understand what was in Gysi's office.

What if lawyers are also banned from owning cell phones?! This measure is super intelligent! Here we have a crime against the GJKKO with lawyers' cell phones, where are we going to drown then?!

Come on! We live in Albania.

In fact, it's not that there's a lack of problems. Prices, the economy, immigration, education, health, technology, cybersecurity... But the national priority today is a soap opera with radars, offices and SMS. It's also protection from imaginary scenarios of GJKKO cell phone attacks.

These are problems.
Who cares about Super Intelligence?
We have as much stupidity as we want to deal with. We have the luxury of dealing with Super Stupidity.

The world discusses the future, while we continue to debate and regulate the next stupidity.

Ehhh…
