Elbasan palace at risk of collapse, residents take valuables

Firefighters have begun escorting residents to retrieve valuables from their homes, as the building in Elbasan is in danger of collapsing.

Experts from the Construction Institute have arrived at the building that was severely damaged the day before after a gas cylinder exploded in one of the apartments.

According to their assessment, the building should be demolished, as it poses a great danger and is uninhabitable.

Two residents of the building lost their lives in the explosion, while several others were left asphyxiated.
