US President Donald Trump has stated that oil prices will fall significantly after the end of the conflict between the United States and Iran, predicting a sharp decrease in the price of gasoline in the US.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said energy prices would fall rapidly after the United States wins a war with Iran. He predicted that gasoline prices would initially fall to around $3 a gallon and then fall below $2.

Trump linked the price cuts to the end of the conflict, arguing that an end to the fighting would bring about a rapid stabilization of energy markets.

However, in international markets, oil prices have remained high due to tensions in the Middle East. According to data reported on Tuesday, Brent was trading around $97 a barrel, while WTI was above $92, amid concerns about global supplies and limited traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

In the same statement, Trump reiterated his stance that Iran will not acquire nuclear weapons, presenting this as one of the main objectives of Washington's policy towards Tehran.

The US president's statements come at a time when tensions between the two countries remain high, while any further disruption of supplies through the Persian Gulf could directly affect global energy prices.
