Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation that lasted about an hour, Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov announced.
According to Ushakov, the two leaders discussed the results of visits to Moscow and Kiev by Trump's special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
"Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has had another phone call with US President Donald Trump," Ushakov said during a press conference.
He described the conversation as constructive and quite open, emphasizing that it was conducted professionally and with mutual respect.
The Kremlin adviser also stated that the conversation was confidential and therefore many of the details and nuances of the discussion could not be made public.
Meanwhile, Putin continues to demand the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from parts of the Donetsk region not controlled by Russia as one of the conditions for achieving peace. This demand has been rejected by Kiev.
According to Ushakov, Putin gave Trump an "objective and comprehensive analysis" of the current situation on the battlefield, as well as presented his position on how to achieve Russia's war objectives.
Tuesday's call followed visits to Moscow and Kiev by Trump's special envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. Ushakov said the two presidents positively assessed the diplomatic effort, while Putin continued to praise Trump's mediation efforts.
During the conversation, according to the Kremlin advisor, "concrete measures" that the US could take to accelerate the end of the war were also discussed.
"You understand that the call was confidential, so I will hardly be able to share many important details and nuances," Ushakov declared.
