The more often the transparency board meets for the allocation of fuel prices, the deeper the hand enters the pockets of Albanians. Several meetings of this board were held, which transparency has only in its name, that the price of oil and gasoline is revised only with increases.

The reason given for each case is the same and dry. price in international markets. Indeed, the price of oil rose in the international wholesale markets, reflecting the European Union's decision to partially ban Russian oil and gas.

But, the EU decision was taken on Tuesday afternoon, and on international stock exchanges, Wednesday's forecast was reflected, when scholarships opened. The retail price did not change in Italy, standing at around 1.95 euros, changed little in North Macedonia, going to about 1.55 euros.

In both these countries there is no transparency board for the price of fuels. So the market is free and operates according to the rules of a free market without being tightened by boards. What happens in Albania where there is a board?

The price of oil in Albania has risen by almost 20 leks within the week, becoming the country most sensitive to stock market fluctuations... and the humor of the transparency board.

If the board really aims for transparency, then it must first make public the daily import of oil to Albania, the average daily consumption, the price that is sold in neighbouring countries, the daily profit of companies, especially large companies and other data serving transparency.

In this form of price assignment, the board is neither more nor less an appendix of fuel oligarchs who legislate the duopoly of Castrat and Gega in this market, a duopol that gives them the opportunity to set even fictitious prices.
