'God keep army properties', Niko Peleshi removes military police from

In the early days of March last year, military police intervened by blocking a several-story construction inside the Military Naval Base of St. Gen.

The intervention of the Military Police was based on the law "No. 13/2015" For the Military Police, after earlier the State Police had failed to liberate the property of the Ministry of Defence. The reason was because the company that was building within the base had a regular building permit, as well as regular documents of ownership of the property, which it had purchased from the former owner compensated under the compensation law.

Military police were activated on the orders of Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, even in the interview with Ferdinand Kumanovo on Monday, the minister brought this as a case to show how he was protecting army properties.

But two second of this moment, if Niko Peleshi proposes to the Government a bill that strips the Military Police of the powers for the protection of army properties. The bill has been passed at the government meeting and is expected to undergo parliamentary procedures for approval.

There are proposed a series of mothers to change, but most of them are merely aesthetic, perhaps to cover the true purpose of these changes, which is to leave at the mercy of the fate of army properties, especially those on the coast who are even the most coveted by oligarchs.

The essential changes are two. Section 2 of the 2015 Law on Military Police and Article 33 of the same law. According to current predictions, the Military Police are tasked, among other things, with protecting the properties of the Ministry of Defence and the army.

Both mothers are proposed to change by making the Military Police supportive in protecting these properties and not the main actor of their protection. Who's going to be the lead defense actor, the bill doesn't correct.

The changes come at a time when debates over army properties, especially at the four coastal bases of Pashaliman, Cape Paul, Palermo and St. Gen. are under pressure from oligarchs.

Leaving them out of the defence competence by the Military Police facilitates their work to make fact of devouring these properties and subsequently legislating this robbery, furthermore that 133 hectares of them have been removed from the plan to spread the Armed Forces.
