New details have come to light from the incident that occurred in the early hours of November 5, 2026, in the "28 Nëntori" neighborhood in Elbasan, where a vehicle owned by a city municipality employee was engulfed in flames after the explosion of a quantity of explosives.

The Elbasan Police have announced that the incident in question was recorded at around 02:00, when an explosion caused by a quantity of explosive material occurred in one of the front tires of a "Volkswagen" type vehicle. The car is owned by a citizen with the initials Alba Duhanxhit.

According to police information, as a result of the explosion, the vehicle was engulfed in flames, which then spread, causing damage to another "Benz" vehicle, which was parked nearby.

Police announcement:

Elbasan/The incident that occurred on 05.11.2026, in the "28 Nëntori" neighborhood, where explosives were placed in the vehicle owned by citizen AD, is being clarified.

The police operation codenamed "Order" is finalized.

One of the suspects is identified and detained, and 3 others are wanted.

The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Elbasan Police Commissariat, following intensive investigative actions to unravel the incident that occurred on 05.11.2026, at around 02:00, in the "28 Nëntori" neighborhood, where a vehicle owned by citizen AD was damaged with explosives, organized and finalized, in cooperation with the structures of the Durrës DVP, the police operation codenamed "Order".

As a result of in-depth investigative actions, statements taken and examination of video footage, it became possible to document the event with legal evidence and detain the citizen:

ET, 43 years old, resident of Durrës (who is suspected of having provided the vehicle used to commit the incident).

Also, the following citizens were declared wanted by the police:

EO, 36 years old; MA, 33 years old, both residents of Elbasan; and BN, 17 years old, resident of Durrës.

The investigations suspect that these citizens, in collaboration with each other, organized and carried out the placement of explosives in the vehicle owned by citizen AD.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, work continues to capture the wanted persons and identify other possible persons involved in this incident.

The procedural materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, for the criminal offenses of "Destruction of property with explosives", committed in collaboration, and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
