While more than 11 months have passed since the rape of the Kenyan girl Xhoi Ayoko and 5 months since her death, the Albanian authorities still have not clarified this event.

New details have come out about how the evidence was hidden, it has also provided information about Joey's death in Kenya, where there are many shadows of doubt and uncertainty about what happened at the Kenyata hospital, where Joey breathed his last on February 13.

Officially, until today, we have no answer from the Albanian authorities regarding the investigations into the case of the Kenyan girl, the prosecution still has no accused persons and the case is heading towards oblivion.

From August 13 of last year, more than 11 months have passed since the barbaric rape of Xhoi and still the Albanian authorities have not clarified this incident, moreover they have not arrested any person, the murder of Xhoi still has no perpetrator and continues to remain a mystery.

Why is Joey's case dragging on so long? Does the investigative team have enough evidence to go after the perpetrators?


To answer this question, we go back in time and go to the date when the serious event took place, on August 13, 2022. This event has been manipulated since its inception. Reliable and confidential sources told News24 that securing evidence at the scene was not done in a proper and professional manner by the police.

The police even took measures against the officer who inspected the scene, removing her from police station No. 1 in Tirana and transferring her to another job outside Tirana. The incident with the Kenyan girl has been neglected since the first inspection of the scene.

Everything has been closed since then, as no importance has been attached to the collection of all the important evidence for solving the incident. The crime scene is a place of special importance for the investigative actions of investigative bodies because any careless action can cause irreparable consequences at this stage of the procedure.

The inspection of the scene is the first investigative action by which the prosecuting body begins to build the foundations of the investigation. In Joey's case, this was not done and the whole event was treated as a suicide, with the aim of closing and hiding it. Although the police referred the case to the Prosecutor's Office in time, the latter began to act only when the event became media, 3 months after the incident took place in the apartment where Joey lived together with her fellow Kenyan, Emily Mutua, who is involved in this event, as she is suspected of having deleted the evidence.

After the event, Emil opened Joe's phones, this was confirmed by Joe's other friend, Brenda, who said that she gave the password of Joe's phone to Emil. Even Emil, in the communications he has had with Joe's close people and mutual friends, has also told the latter the name of the person he suspects of killing Joe.

The investigators know these facts about Emil and can prove them by seizing her phones and opening all the conversations that have been conducted, if the prosecution would do this, Emil should be arrested today for perjury, as well as for obstructing the disclosure of the truth. But, when 11 months have passed since the event, Emil has simply been questioned several times by the investigative team and no charges have been brought against him.

Also, the Forensic Medicine in Albania does not yet have an official report to prove the fact that Xhoi was brutally raped, that is, a report that provides biological and scientific evidence, which immediately reveals the perpetrators of the crime of rape and rape of Xhoi. No report from the Institute of Forensic Medicine has been seen to date on the Kenyan girl's incident, but investigators say it is confidential and not made public. The question we add for 11 months this report cannot be read by the prosecution? The investigative group has been sending letters to Kenya for 2 months, requesting the forensic report of Joe's death made by the Kenyan authorities, and also requesting that Joe's mother, Ruth Abongo, be interrogated, where the Albanian authorities have started a series of questions to the Kenyan authorities.

Strange how the Albanian prosecution is acting, even though Xhoi's mother stayed with her daughter in Albania for 6 months, she was never taken and was never asked in detail about her daughter's incident, but the prosecution remembers 9 months after the incident and 4 months after Xhoi passed away. Even the only time Ruth Abongo was questioned, the police and the prosecution told Joey's mother that her daughter committed suicide. This is where the black cloud began that covered Joe's case with terror and mystery.

The manipulation and concealment of the evidence of Joey's event is frightening, this is also proven in the fact that the girl's forensic report was made only on paper. There is still no official report on whether Joey was violated and raped. Confidential sources told News24 that the first forensic report was made without examining the girl's body. A scandal of the Albanian authorities, who have overlooked the most important evidence to discover the perpetrators of the barbaric rape of Xhoi. In official documents, the Institute of Forensic Medicine states that it only gives answers to forensic-legal expert reports to the requesting authority, the prosecution. In the documents, the frivolity and manipulation that was done by the Institute of Forensic Medicine, because the prosecution registered Joe's case on September 22, while in the document the Institute of Forensic Medicine says that two expert reports were made on September 2 and September 9. So, how is it possible, first the expert reports were made and then the case was registered in the prosecutor's office. How is it possible that expert reports were made without being requested by the prosecution, when the Institute of Forensic Medicine itself says in the document that in order to receive the response to the report, we must turn to the prosecution because it is the requesting body for this report? So, the first act-expertise of Joe was done only on paper without examining the girl's body and all the injuries were considered to have been caused by suicide to stick to the version of suicide. The investigative group has asked for an expert report on Xhoi, and even to this day, the investigative group still does not have an answer as to whether Xhoi was violated and raped. This clearly shows that this action is done deliberately in order not to reveal the perpetrators of Joe's murder, since if the second forensic act-expertise is done properly, irrefutable scientific and biological evidence of the perpetrators is obtained and the event is clarified. Today after 11 months there is still no answer. The police and the prosecution know the truth, the perpetrators know. But why are they not acting? Kenyan journalist Maurice Ndole of the "Africanavoice" media has closely followed and investigated Joe's case. He says that Xhoi's mother Ruth Abongo left Albania because she was afraid.

"The return to Kenya and the journey was very bad for Joe. They had no other better options. Kenya was a better hospital but a dangerous culture of corruption. They were afraid of something. Ruth was afraid of something," says the Kenyan journalist.

There is also a video of the last moments of Joey's life, where she is not put on oxygen in the hospital, which Joey's mother has, but when we ask her she refuses to answer.

“I heard there's a video of Joy at the end of her life where the hospital refused to give her oxygen. I heard Ruth got that video. But she refuses to share that video because she is afraid of something," says the Kenyan journalist.

"There are people who have that video. It was posted on Facebook and taken down. My concern is that the Kenyan government wants to end it. I heard that it was briefly posted on Facebook," says the Kenyan journalist.

According to the Kenyan journalist, the Kenyan government is corrupt and the hospital did not care for Joe properly and it is unclear and meaningless whether the nurse was incompetent or following orders.

"The Kenyan hospital did not take proper care of him. She nearly choked to death. I don't have that video. There is also the matter of money. Very subtle," says the Kenyan journalist.

"The Kenyan government is very corrupt. You have to be careful or they can cause problems. So the dynamics are very complicated to understand. From what I'm told Ruth was very upset. She begged to be given oxygen and the nurse refused because the doctor wasn't there to approve it. So it's unclear if the nurse was just an idiot or if she was following orders," says the Kenyan journalist.

As it started in Albania full of mystery, so the story of Xhoi ended in Kenya. 11 months after the event and still justice has not spoken. The words of Xhoi's mother are touching and show that she is slowly being killed by Albanian justice for the injustice being done to her and Xhoi.

"Justice for Joey will give me a new meaning for life, otherwise I will die and meet my daughter," says Joey's mother.
