The editor-in-chief of the Syri.net portal, Leonard Quku, has been suddenly dismissed from his position.
He has also made a reaction, where he gives some reasons why he was fired.
He says that he and the administrator, Gazmir Spahija, know the truth, whom he describes without hesitation as a cooperative brigadier.
Among other things, Quku reminds him of the event, which apparently became a reason for dismissal, that happened on May 29, at 17:10.
"Why was my work computer seized urgently and my news account deleted", Quku asks.
Now the former editor-in-chief of Syri.net challenges him to face in court.
Although "he doubts the masculinity of a man who eavesdrops on employees' Whatsapp", as he says.
Leonard Cook's post
Obligatory clarification:
It is true that I left the post of Chief Editor of Syri.net after about 2 years of intensive work, which was also accompanied by a 9-month engagement at the DP (Reestablishment) press office. (To be clear, I did it with desire and passion, I was not paid twice). I did not want this matter to become public for the sole fact that it was not of public interest. My daily itinerary is that of the common man who sees his work.
However, quite a few colleagues have asked me to take a stand, to tell the truth, based on some accusations and unworthy labels against me, authored by the person who fired me. Despite the injustice done to me and it is alarming when a journalist is treated in this way - but it is still a discussion that takes a lot of time and energy - I had decided to maintain the same profile that I have maintained for more than 1 decade.
I have ignored his insults and continue to ignore them because this person has nothing to do with the media and does not even know how the media works. He was appointed there by someone and they gave him the right, perhaps, to make unjust decisions, to throw people on the street without cause, without warning, and furthermore, he refuses to do the liquidations that the law assigns him. It's like taking the co-op brigadier to fly the plane. As much as a brigadier has to do with piloting, the gentleman in question has to do with the media. So, the end is known, they take you along with you.
However, a colleague today also made a post on social networks without my authorization and I have to make two small clarifications as follows:
The unilateral decision to fire me was taken by the Administrator of Syri.net and Syri Tv, Gazmir Spahija, without motive, without warning and without respecting the law, the Labor Code. There has been constant pressure, coercion and psychological violence from the gentleman in question towards me and my family. He and I know the truth of everything. What does the gentleman remember on May 29, at 5:10 p.m.? Why was my work computer impounded and my news feed deleted? These are documented. Imagine that I am not given the contract of employment and the order of appointment to work by this gentleman who did not dare to make the dismissal order by sticking to what he did knowingly. Anyway, I will face him in court personally and it will be the institutions that will decide who is right.
The gentleman has legal responsibility doubly burdened already because of a document fabricated by him, also made public by third parties without my approval, as if I had left the workplace(!). I have 15 years of experience in the media, I have changed several editorial offices during this time, I have known owners and managers, I have contacts and enjoy the respect of a dozen excellent colleagues. I expect and hope that the gentleman has reflected and retracted the unworthy terms he used against me, as for my claims or his, there are institutions that judge them, the judgment is based on evidence, not rumors in corridors or offices. If the man has the courage to come and face me before the court. But I doubt that he is so brave that is why he has chosen to act with shameful machinations. As for Syri.net and Syri Tv,
That's it for today!
