Russia has approved a list of nations it considers "hostile", including Albania. This order comes after the massive sanctions that Western countries have activated against Russia, in response to this country's invasion of Ukraine.

Other foreign territories have been added to the list that, according to Moscow, carry out hostile actions against it, Russian companies and citizens.

The order with the list was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and is part of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation issued on March 5, 2022 "On the temporary procedure for the fulfillment of obligations to certain foreign creditors".

List of countries:

In total, the list has 48 territories. Specifically, it includes the 27 European Union member states that have adopted severe sanctions against Russia since the start of the invasion on February 24 and have announced arms shipments to the Ukrainian military.

In addition, the list defines as hostile countries other territories such as the USA, Canada, Australia, Albania, Andorra, Britain (including the island of Jersey and other overseas territories it controls: such as the island of Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands and Gibraltar), Iceland and Liechtenstein.

In the same line, Micronesia, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Republic of Korea, San Marino, North Macedonia, Singapore, Taiwan, Montenegro, Japan, Switzerland and own Ukraine.

In this way, the Russian list has included the island of Taiwan that Beijing claims as its own. This Monday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized that the situation with Taiwan bears no parallel to what happened in Ukraine: "They are completely different in essence. Taiwan is an internal matter of China, while the conflict there is between the two countries. Taiwan's hope lies in reunification,” he said.

Since the start of the war, the Chinese government has advocated dialogue and measured its interventions to maintain excellent relations with both contenders.
