The suspected author of the murder of the 40-year-old Albanian from Kosovo, Nexhat Rama, whose body was found burned inside a Range Rover car about 3 days ago in Cologne, Brescia, Italy, has been arrested.
Italian media report that citizen Davide Cristiano Mossali, who worked as a mechanic, has been handcuffed. He was arrested after the discovery of telephone records by reconstructing the contacts, but also by examining the footage of the cameras near the victim's house.
Cristiano Mossali is currently in custody, under investigation for premeditated murder, destruction of a corpse and possession of weapons without a permit.
The mechanic had received a debt of 30,000 euros from Rama, and due to usurious interests, the amount he had to repay had increased exponentially, so he had found himself in trouble. The inability to pay off the debt and the 40-year-old's insistence on returning the money along with interest reportedly prompted Davide Cristiano Mossali to come up with a plan to get out of the difficult situation.
According to preliminary investigations, he shot Rama to death with a gun and then put him in the trunk of the Range Rover that the victim had lent to his brother. Then he abandoned the vehicle among the vineyards and corn in Cologne. Investigators from Monday afternoon were determined to identify the perpetrator of the murder.
