The State Police destroyed 4945 cannabis plants, cultivated in deep mountainous and forested areas. 1560 police forces were involved in the action and 32 drones were also used to control the territory from the air.

The authorities announce that more specifically, 3,290 narcotic plants were destroyed in Shkodër district, 1,010 plants in Lezhë district, 316 plants in Kukës district, 225 plants in Malesia e Krujës, 73 plants in Gjirokastër district and 31 plants suspected of cannabis narcotics in Dibër district.

The narcotic plants were destroyed by burning, except for a small amount of plants that was seized as material evidence.

The police announce that during the controls, the police services were faced with difficult mountainous terrain, therefore the intervention of FNSH employees, who descended with ropes, was needed to destroy the narcotic plants.

The investigative structures of the Police where the narcotic plants were detected and destroyed, under the direction of the respective Prosecutor's Offices, are continuing the work to identify and capture the perpetrators of cultivation.
