German MEP and spokesperson for the European People's Party (EPP) Parliamentary Group on Foreign Affairs, Michael Gahler, has sharply criticized the government regarding the recent protests.
He writes that as part of the European Parliament's election delegation, he witnessed the connections between the state, the ruling party, and organized crime.
“Having led the EP election observation delegation and witnessing the links between the state, the ruling party and organised crime, I see how long citizens have been protesting against corruption and the government, raising concerns that touch the very core of Albania’s European integration prospects,” Gahler writes in X.
