The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha , rejected Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements that elements of the "ANTIFA" movement were involved in the protests.

In his speech at the DP leadership meeting, Berisha said that the protest is led by students and high school students who grew up without one parent at home and who oppose corruption, drugs and misgovernment.

"This guy is behaving like a godfather. He is doing everything to create a shield and present this student liberation movement as ANTIFA. Not a single ANTIFA element. Zero. The movement is against his terrible thefts. Do you listen to the students? Children of immigrants, raised without one parent. Grown up, grown up, without one parent at home because he drove them away with his politics. He drove them away with his politics and now he goes like a monster from one word to another thinking that he will deceive the international community that these are ANTIFA. These are not ANTIFA. And he failed in the most shameful way when he tried to give them the appearance of ANTIFA and organized the attack on the DP headquarters. And he organized the attacks on the DP headquarters in all districts. That he needed this to say that these people don't have it with me, they don't have it with my corruption, they don't have it with drugs, "They have nothing to do with the narco-state, these are destructive anarchists," said Berisha.

He compared the protests to those of 1990 and said that students are facing a brutal dictatorship, while also drawing attention to the economic conditions of students and pensioners.

"ANTIFA's letter was burned to Edi Rama. These are students, high school students in the absolute sense as liberators as the students of 1990 were. Yes, yes, yes. These are facing a savage dictatorship and I warn the Albanians, I tell them, if time will prove it, but the genes of his soul are blacker than those of Spiro Koleka and Kristaq Rama. Here we will be. This is a monster, these traits of barbarity dominate over every other trait. If he were not a barbarian in spirit, how could he allow 400 or so thousand pensioners with partial pensions who cannot buy absolutely any medicine. Did you listen to the students, 100 euro scholarship, what will I do with 100 euros? Which pensioner can pay for water and electricity? Yes, this is heartless, for him the poverty of others does not exist or is his incompetence."
