The Albanian Parliament has announced that it will hold a public plenary session on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at a time when Tirana is 'bustling' with student and citizen protests.

According to the agenda, approved by order of the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, one of the main issues is the urgent interpellation with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ervin Demo, requested by a group of deputies of the Democratic Party.

The session also includes two interpellations with the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, requested by MPs Ermal Pacaj and Tedi Blushi. The latter has also requested an interpellation with the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj.

In addition to interpellations, MPs will review a number of draft laws, including the ratification of the Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of the Profession of Lawyer, the agreement with North Macedonia on the establishment of joint border crossing points, as well as amendments to the law on payment services.

The agenda also includes the draft law on the prevention of money laundering and the financing of terrorism, amendments to the copyright law, and the draft law on geographical indications of artisanal and industrial products.

Another important point is the draft decision to establish a Special Parliamentary Committee for the second phase of the Administrative-Territorial Reform in Albania. The session will conclude with discussions on issues outside the agenda, where MPs can speak according to the deadlines set in the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly.
